This is an indicative estimate. Final eligibility is subject to lender assessment. Default rate is LIC HFL’s current starting rate (7.15%, updated September 2026); your rate depends on your CIBIL score and LIC HFL’s credit policy. Figures are rounded. Nothing you enter here is stored or sent anywhere.

A balance transfer moves your outstanding home loan from your current lender to another lender at a lower interest rate. Even half a percent less can add up to lakhs over the remaining tenure — but switching has costs, so it pays to check the numbers first.

What the calculator shows

  • Your new EMI and monthly saving for the same remaining tenure
  • Total interest saved over the remaining tenure
  • Net saving after switching costs, and how many months it takes to recover those costs
  • How much sooner you finish if you keep paying your current EMI instead

When a balance transfer makes sense

  • The rate difference is meaningful — usually 0.5% or more
  • Plenty of tenure is left — the earlier in the loan, the bigger the saving
  • You have a good repayment track record and CIBIL score

You can also ask for a top-up loan along with the transfer. See our Home Loan Balance Transfer page for LIC HFL’s terms.

Frequently asked questions

Processing fee, legal and valuation charges, stamp duty on the new mortgage where applicable, and any foreclosure charge at your current lender (floating-rate loans to individuals usually have none).

Typically 2–4 weeks once documents are complete — mainly the time to get your property documents released by your current lender.

Worth trying — some lenders offer a rate conversion for a fee. Use this calculator to compare that offer with a transfer.
